NIALL KAVANAGH

 

TEACHER OF GUITAR

Niall Kavanagh born in Liverpool, England started playing the guitar at the age of 3 years old, with the help of his father teaching him chord shapes and guitar riffs. Niall quickly became enthralled by the instrument and asked if could learn guitar at his primary school offering group guitar lessons at the age of 8. After two weeks his teacher told him to look for a private tutor. Keith Bridge based in Liverpool took on this role. 

 

When Niall was 15 he was accepted into the Junior Royal Northern College of Music to study guitar under the Guitar specialist Jeremy Bleasedale. He achieved his Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music grade 8 in 2010 at the age of 17. 

 

Niall studied Classical Guitar Performance Bachelor of Arts degree at at the conservatoire Royal Northern College of Music. He studied there for 4 years under the Australian Guitarist and Classic FM artist Craig Ogden. 

 

Niall has performed internationally playing classical and flamenco guitar. He has also played in many bands throughout his career. 

 

Niall took on the challenge studying flamenco guitar further in the Flamenco School Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas in Granada Spain. He spent 6 months learning different styles and performing with Flamenco Dancers Singers and Percussionists.

 

During covid Niall set up his own teaching business called NKMT (Niall Kavanagh Music Tuition) providing lessons in Guitar, Piano, Drums and Music Theory. Niall has Grade 8 in all of these instruments.

 

Here at the Bermuda School of Music Niall teaches Guitar – Classical, Acoustic, Electric and Base, Ukulele and Piano.

 

His musical influences are Štěpán Rak, Paco de Lucia, Cameron de la Isla, Tomatito, Danyel Waro and FIrmin Viry.
