This children’s choir was founded within the Bermuda School of Music in January 2006. The goal of the ensemble is to provide quality music training to our young community in a group environment where the singer learns to read music, ear-training skills, as well as expression of music through the combination of text and melody. However, there are many more benefits of choral singing, such as, improvement in academics, developing a child’s confidence, understanding enunciation, body posture and correct breathing among others. Through diverse repertoire, each singer experiences other cultures and historical elements of those traditions.
Most importantly, we nurture creativity and artistic expression. Music gives a human the power to dream and emote at a high level of communication. One can gain the ability to recognize beauty in the musical language and have a lifelong awareness of compassion, sensitivity and the depth of human emotion in this great art form.
