Jane Farge

 

TEACHER OF PIANO AND VOICE

Jane Farge was born in Essex, England and studied voice and piano at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music in London, UK.  There, she was a junior exhibitioner from age 11 on a full scholarship and age 18, she was awarded another full scholarship as a full-time scholar.

Whilst at R.C.M., Jane won many award prizes and competitions in Essex, Sussex, Surrey and London in both voice and piano.  Her vocal studies were with Vaughan Meakins, Lyndon Vanderpump, Margaret Kingsley, Heather Harper and more recently, Janet Baker.  Jane’s piano studies were with Thalia Myers, Ian Brown and Stephen Savage, piano accompaniment with Alistair Graham, and theory studies with Edwin Roxburgh.

Jane has performed vocally in recitals, opera and oratorio in the UK, France, U.S.A., Germany, Sicily and Bermuda and has also had much experience in piano accompanying.  In addition, Jane has performed for the Royal Family at the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, London.  Since arriving in Bermuda, she has taught voice and piano privately from 1988 and then later joined the Bermuda School of Music in September of 2012 as a voice and piano instructor.  Jane also accompanies the Suzuki String groups on Wednesdays there.

Jane graduated from the Royal College in 1984 with Diplomas:  A.R.C.M. and Dip. R.C.M.
